Moved up two places from Qualifiers and ended up in 18th at this year’s Vail World Cup; not bad for an off-the-couch performance! I’m glad that I went into this year with a more relaxed attitude. I am definitely more psyched about my upcoming Australia trip (6 days away!!) and I needed this comp to re-ignite my psych to train for next year. So happy I got to represent my country for Semis! Till next year GoPro Games!

Oh my god I MADE SEMIS!!!!! Really skated in by the skin of my teeth today. I climbed… Well I climbed pretty terribly but considering I didn’t train for Vail it wasn’t so bad.

Today’s qualifiers came down to # of attempts to the bonus hold. I have learned in the past that its best to try these problems as little as possible, and to only try again if you truely believe you can reach the bonus (if you haven’t already) or finish it. Any hold in between does not matter at these World Cups. If I had had one more attempt I probably wouldn’t have made it so I’m glad that I didn’t try too hard ;) heh. A bit weird that that is a factor at these comps - not overdoing it- but what can ya do.

Tomorrow will be streamed live again at 10am MST, http://IFSC.tv and since I came in 20th (really skidded in there) I will be going out first! Woohoo! Can’t get bumped down now so I’m going to climb my best and actually have fun this time around. No pressure when you’re last ;) hah! See ya out there!

Up here in Vail, CO for the IFSC World Cup and GoPro Mountain Games!! Qualifiers will be live on broadcast at IFSC.tv starting around 930am MST. I am the last female climber so keep an eye out for me around noon/noon-thirty!

I’m really psyched for this opportunity to compete in my second World Cup, although I must admit I am approaching it with a slightly more relaxed attitude than last year. After constant training for ABS and SCS earlier this year I decided to focus more on my upcoming outdoor trip to Australia as opposed to burning myself out on plastic. I’m really looking forward to the experience I’ll gain tomorrow and interested in seeing how I do! I’m going to have fun no matter what :D

Go Team USA!!

My time spent in Japan was so many things; memorable, unique, eye-opening, once-in-a-lifetime, fun, amazing, the list could go on. WiFi was very limited and I was unable to update as it happened, BUT I got lots of documentation so get ready Tumblr!
I will relive my trip through the following posts and blogs, meeting the amazing people and experiencing the culture all over again. A huge thanks to FIVE TEN for giving me this opportunity of cultural growth and exploration. They are the best!! I also couldn’t have done it without my guides Yumi Takizawa and Shin Tachibanazono; a heartfelt thank you goes to them in particular.
Today I will queue the posts and hopefully get you guys psyched to visit this awesome place! ^_^
